DIY Christian Weddings - save money! Do It Yourself!

My fiance and I wanted a wedding that would be completely centered on Jesus Christ, the Great Bridegroom. We found it difficult to obtain modern Christian products, items that reflected Jesus both in the style as well as the wording. And honestly, as we continued our plans the price tag kept soaring! So we decided to DIY most of the items for our wedding. We saved so much money that my fiance suggested that I write a blog to share ideas with our brothers and sisters in Christ. The goal is for there to be nine sections that provide instructions on everything from DIY Christian stationary and wedding invitations through making your own wedding dress, wedding party attire,  floral arrangements, out of town bags, decorations, music lists and more.

It is our hope that other Christian couples can save thousands of dollars by simply making things themselves. The subject of stewardship occurs over 700 times in the Bible and it is clear to us that a debt free wedding is the best kind. A beautiful wedding does not have to be expensive.

As the Lord has given us all different gifts, this is a great opportunity to get together with family and friends who can bless you with a skill set that they have. For example, you may be great with a computer but not so hot with the sewing machine - maybe a friend or relative can help out. As a team it is easier to tackle the more complicated projects. That said, if time is short, you are a beginner, or if you are on your own then the Easy projects are just right for you.

Each section contains instructions for three levels designated by stars:

* Easy Level - simple instructions using readily available materials.

** Intermediate Level - more challenging projects requiring some special tools, equipment and materials.

***Advanced Level - designed for experience craftspeople with solid computer skills.

As you use this blog we pray that The Lord will bless your wedding and all your endeavors.
